The best web applications aren’t just functional, they’re easy and fun to work with. They have their own stamp—something that sets them apart from the other dot-coms. CrankApps is looking for a master user experience designer to be our stamp. If you can:
- Surprise and delight with your impeccable taste in branding, color, layout and typography;
- Design a web application workflow that’s a joy to use, and clearly explain it to picky clients;
- Write clean, elegant HTML and CSS, and clearly explain it to left-brained programmers;
- Learn (or know already) your way around a Ruby on Rails application, as well as geek tools like GitHub;
- Do all the above from the comfort of your home with a team scattered throughout the Northern Hemisphere…

Rubyist Extraordinaire
No ninjas or rockstars necessary, just someone who knows and loves Ruby. CrankApps is looking for a Rails programmer for a mix of consulting work (to pay the bills) and fun side projects (to maintain sanity). You should feel comfortable working from, well, the comfort of your own home (we all do). JavaScript fu is a must. +1s for experience with the following:
- Heroku
- Haml
- SCSS
- CoffeeScript
- Backbone.js
- iOS
